Much Over-Due Update and April 2016 Dividends

Hello friends! Hope everyone is having a good year so far, with the downturn of oil and economic restlessness I’m sure there are many of you who had trails and challenges to face and overcome. For those who do follow this blog more consistently I’m sure you noticed I haven’t be really updating my portfolio nor have I been keeping up with my dividends/assets as well as I normally do. Well to say the least it has been an extremely hectic past 2 months, both with equal amounts of ups and downs. To start with all the downs, I found out in beginning of April that my landlord sold the house I was renting. Normally I wouldn’t be too worried, just simply move somewhere else, right?

Well unfortunately the small town I live in has such a poor housing market there literally was no other place to rent. To top that off the real estate market is so weak, the only places left to buy were approximately half a million dollars. And to make matters worse, the amount of developed land available was so small anyone who owned any used the principle supply and demand to their advantage. With that being said, I was honestly about to throw in the towel and move away from the community which I had grown to love so much. It was that or I dissolve the investments I have been working so hard to build these last 3 years, and build a home, needless to say I was in a tough situation.  That being said, I honestly do believe that God was looking out for me. He blessed me with the right connections as well as he gave me the strength to endure not only working a full time job with ample overtime, but also the energy with going through the process of buying land, working with the municipality, arranging, organizing and directing the operation of moving a trailer from a different towns to setting down on to the ground, and believe me that is another learning curve which demands so much time, money, and energy. However he didn’t stop there, he helped me find a good condition trailer home I was able to purchase in cash. So with all being said and done, I did have to crystalize and liquidate some investments but not all which is another blessing in itself. Not only that but I will be a home owner with no mortgage, just a small interest free debt from the loving hands of my parents. Its moments like this I truly do realize the importance of time management, considering I needed to find another place to move to by the end of this month really make you appreciate the days when you have no obligations to be anywhere. With that being said, Just last week I was sent to Newark, Delaware to undergo some additional training because I will be the new chemistry analyzer super-user in the lab I work for. However this trip was arranged before I found out I had to move out to a different home. And in this situation 7 days away is a long time. Despite being away and feeling helpless to my situation back in Canada, the States were amazing, being that it was my first ever experience crossing the southern border, it was a huge culture shock but needless to say, it was amazing and I made many friends and even some potential business contacts for many years to come.

So hopefully I was able to shine some light on my where bouts, and why you may have not seen me posting for a while. I can’t stop here without at least giving you one dividend up date, so here are the dividends I’ve collected during the month of April 2016.

Thanks BSR, compound interest is definitely playing towards my favor i can’t deny that. It looks like it is treating you quite well yourself too, great April for you too ;) . As far as home ownership goes its pretty relieving feeling especially after you face one of worst things a renter could experience and that is being evicted cause your land lord sold the house to people who don’t want tenants. Oh well such is life haha.

      Best regards

It sure wasn’t an easy one that’s for sure . But the stressing aspect isn’t too bad now that I am moved in and slowly getting settled. Monthly dividends are always great, having additional sources of income is always great especially in times like these. Thank you for stopping by!

      Cheers
